Hosted desktops
Your work PC, from anywhere.
A hosted desktop is a Windows PC that runs in a data centre and not under a desk. Your programs and files live on it, and your team signs in from whatever computer is in front of them, at the office, at home or on the road.
- Set up and supported by one person
- Priced per user, quoted first
- Remote across the UK
Is it for you
When it earns its keep, and when it doesn't
A good fit if
- People work from more than one place and need the same desktop everywhere
- You run a desktop program the whole team shares, such as accounts or job management software
- An office server is ageing and you'd rather not buy another
- Staff use their own laptops and company files shouldn't live on them
- You take on temporary or seasonal staff who need a desktop for a few months
Probably not if
- Everything you use already runs in a web browser
- Your work is heavy video or design that needs a powerful local machine
- Your internet connection is unreliable
How it works
From first call to signing in
Talk it through
Harrison asks what you run, who needs it and where they work, and tells you plainly whether a hosted desktop fits or whether something simpler would do.
A written quote
A monthly price per user, based on the size of desktop you need, agreed before anything is set up.
Set up and move in
Desktops are built, your programs installed and your files moved across. Each person gets their sign in and a walkthrough.
Prices
Quoted around what you need
A monthly price per user, set by how many people and how much power each desktop needs.

Answers before you get in touch
What is a hosted desktop?
It is a Windows desktop that runs in a data centre. You sign in to it over the internet from a PC, a Mac, a tablet or a web browser, and it looks and behaves like a normal work computer with your programs and files on it.
What do we need at our end?
Any reasonably modern computer and a steady internet connection. The work happens on the hosted desktop, so older machines often get a second life.
Can our accounts or line of business software run on it?
Usually, if it runs on Windows. Harrison checks your specific programs, and their licence terms, before quoting.
Who do we call when something is wrong?
Harrison. You have one number and one person, and he deals with the platform on your behalf.
Where is our data held?
That is confirmed in writing before you sign up, along with how it is backed up.
What does it cost?
It depends on the number of people and the size of desktop each needs, so it is quoted. You get a monthly figure in writing before you commit to anything.
