What can be fixed remotely

Most problems don’t need anyone to visit

  • Slow computers, failed updates and warning messages
  • Virus and malware removal
  • Email, Outlook, account and password problems
  • Microsoft 365: shared mailboxes, Teams, OneDrive, MFA and new starters
  • New laptop or PC setup, with files and email moved across
  • Printer connection and setup, at a fixed price

How a session works

You stay in control the whole time

  1. Tell Harrison what’s wrong

Call, send a message or use the chat. Your own words are fine, and a technical diagnosis isn’t needed.

  2. Agree the cost first

Harrison confirms the likely cost before any paid work starts.

  3. Start the session

Use Windows Quick Assist or AnyDesk. You watch everything on your screen and can end it at any time. How a session works.

Need someone in person?

Probably not the right fit if…

  • The main need is a physical repair, such as a broken screen, which Harrison refers to a local repair service
  • You need round-the-clock emergency cover

Questions

Answers before you get in touch

Do you cover my area?

Yes, if you are in the UK. Remote support works anywhere in the United Kingdom. Onsite visits are in Milton Keynes; further afield, a visit can be arranged with travel added on top.

How much does remote IT support cost?

Remote support is £30 an hour for home users, £40 an hour for businesses and £35 an hour for charities and community groups, with a one-hour minimum and then 30-minute steps. The likely cost is explained before paid work starts.

Is a remote session safe?

A session only starts when you share the code or accept the connection. You see everything Harrison does on your screen and can end the session at any time.

Do I need to install anything?

Quick Assist is built into Windows 10 and Windows 11. If it isn’t available, AnyDesk is a small app you download and open for the session. Nothing permanent is installed for a one-off session.

What if it can’t be fixed remotely?

Harrison will tell you and explain the options. Visits are only available in Milton Keynes, and physical repairs such as broken screens are referred to a local repair service.

Not sure which service fits?

Call before you know which service you need. Explain what is happening in your own words and Harrison will confirm the right next step, and the cost, before any paid work.
